Wherein JEFF BAIJ Shows the Seeds How We Do
there is a tradition every semester (or every year or i dont know) that students at THE UNIVERSITY OF MARY WASHINGTON take turns shitting all over my art on their university blogs.
the class is "digital approaches to fine arts" and each student starts a blog and they review new media/digital/internet/whatever art and they post their own digital experiments/classwork on there etc etc etc.
i have no idea how i ended up in the curriculum (and let me say here that i am SO HAPPY and insanely grateful that i did) but 90% of these kids HATE MY SHIT. truly. some of the more unreserved lashings from previous years are on my --> bio <-- page.
i'm saying, the reaction is on some whole other level and i can only imagine that it must have been a total shit storm year after year because now these kids arent reviewing me anymore.
no way bro: NOW THEY'RE MAKING MY WORK.
the feeling you get when you check your email and find 15 google alerts saying that a roomful of kids in virginia are actively imitating you for class credit.
HEY UMW, FLY ME OUT THERE. I HAVE HANDS TO SHAKE.
